Look for Less: Self Portrait Lace Off the Shoulder Top

During our recent trip to San Diego, one night we ventured north to the ritzy seaside town of La Jolla. We opted for dinner at George’s Ocean Terrace, the more casual younger brother to George’s on the Cove, as it came highly recommended from literally everyone on Facebook and Instagram. Sipping on cocktails and nibbling on their perfect stuffed figs, we  dined on the rooftop, perched high on the cliffs above the Pacific Ocean. While most of San Diego is decidedly beachy and casual, I decided to amp it up and get a little fancy (just love getting my fancypants on!) for dear George.

Getting artsy with the George’s sign while we waited for our table. Very fashion. Very ootd.

I recently bought this off the shoulder top from SheInside, and it checks all the right boxes. Lacy? Check. Off the shoulder? Check. Show-stopping sleeves? Check and check. Better yet, it’s a bargain and a spot-on dupe for a Self Portrait blouse that’s sold out everywhere. The only flaw? It doesn’t come in every color.

The ShopBop version for about $80. Buy here.

Shopbop sells a pricier but still under $100 version, if you’re afraid to order from SheInside. My items took about two weeks to arrive and the quality has been great so far. No complaints, especially for a perfectly feminine and detailed summer top under $20 that I think looks much more expensive. Snag yours before summer’s over and it’s too late!

Look for Less: Bows on Bows in San Diego

Working 9-5 slaving in an office, I’m trapped in conservative soul-sucking business clothing all day and don’t get many opportunities to prance around in cute summer clothes. So you better believe I embraced every opportunity to bare some clavicle and wear every single off the shoulder top I own while on vacation in San Diego.

Blouse // Choker // Bag

Even better than an off the shoulder top? An off the shoulder top paired with a choker. I decided to go full-on bows on bows. This sassy little choker reminds me a lot of an Are You Am I version, so I was happy to scoop it up at a mere fraction of the price. Ain’t nobody got money for a $50 choker.

Every night we relished in the perfect San Diego weather and would explore the nearby marina and Seaport collection of touristy shops and overpriced, yet kitschy restaurants. I also took the opportunity to force my mom to take outfit photos! I am so awkward with these still. I love fashion and want to blog about personal style, but I’m  pretty uncomfortable in front of the camera, and my mom is a saint for putting up with my self-critical direction.  Only thing to get me through a photo shoot? Ice cream!

We grabbed two crazy expensive ($17 total!) from Ben & Jerry’s, but they were worth it to satisfy my never-ending sweet tooth.  Also worth it? Taking in the sunset and golden light over the harbor. No one does sunsets quite like Southern California.

Look for Less: Stuart Weitzman Highland Boots

Gigi Hadid Grey Stuart Weitzman Bootsimage source

The #Nsale ends later this week, so why not grab a spot-on dupe while prices are still low? These Steve Madden Gleemers are practically twins with  the famous Stuart Weitzman Highland boots that celebs and bloggers love. With #NSale pricing they are only $100 until August 8th. I want to keep the end of summer far out of my mind, but these are the perfect cold-weather investment piece to stock up on now while prices are low and before the dreaded autumn and winter chill sets in.

Tijan Serena Black Stuart Weitzman Highland Boots

One of my favorite bloggers, Tijan Serena, can rock the hell out of the black Highlands.

Nordstrom currently have the black in stock in many sizes, and you can find the grey version at Macy’s which is price matching #NSale prices. It’s a win-win situation. I already have a pair of over the knee black boots, so I’m pretty keen on the grey beauties. Minus the side of Zayn Malik, I’ll do my best Gigi Hadid in these. They elevate any neutral look into a full-on supermodel-approved  power outfit. Any excuse to do a bad-bitch strut is fine by me.

In other news, I’m in a full-on taco coma from a fun lunch with friends, and already ready to watch RHONJ and plan our trip to San Diego next weekend. What did you do this weekend?

Look for Less: Kendall & Kylie’s Dior Technologic Sunglasses

Happy Sunday, friends! How was everyone’s weekend? I’m about to nurse a casino hangover at brunch with my parents, but as Sunday tradition dictates, I first wanted to share a designer dupe with you. This one’s HEAVILY discounted, so get excited!

Forget the Dior So Real sunglasses, everyone’s favorite statement sunnies seem to be the Dior Technologics. Bloggers and celebs alike – Chiara Ferragni, Kendall and Kylie – have been spotted rocking these bad boys. I’m not a huge K&K fan, but they are definitely a barometer for what items are on-trend and soon to be coveted by the masses.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner Dior Technologic Sunglasses Dupe

More sleek than the So Reals, I think these would be super flattering on most face shapes, and a good pair of statement glasses can elevate an entire outfit. Unfortunately, the Technologics retail for $560, so not exactly pocket change. Miraculously, the look for less I found at Missguided is only $19.20 (!!!!!), so you can get this trendy look without shelling out half a pay check and your firstborn.

Shop the sale HERE

While the #NSale gets all the love, my old friends at Madewell are hosting a rival summer sale that quickly caught my attention in between catching up on Snapchat and mindlessly scrolling through Instagram this morning. The trendier/more hipster little sister of J. Crew, Madewell is one of my favorite retailers, but often just a bit too expensive for my budget. This weekend though, the fashion gods have smiled upon us and you can currently get any Madewell sale item with an additional 40% off with code EXTRA40 at checkout.

That effortless “oh I just arrived back from summering on the Mediterranean” look for less? Don’t mind if I do! Check out some of my top picks to finish your summer sartorially strong below! All of them are less than $100, and most are less than $50!

silk sandstar dress in vinefloral

Silk Dress in Vinefloral – light and airy and oh so pretty. A perfect summer dress and currently less than $40! This dress would be perfect for a day out shopping or date night. I may need this.

the amalfi tote bag

Amalfi Tote Bag – Available in this navy or a bright crimson. Love this tote for the beach or as a summer carry-on bag. Plus, that name means I’m automatically a fan!

embroidered gamine skirt

The Gamine Embroidered Skirt. Pair it with a white tee like on the model and you’ll have mastered bohemian, yet still put together style.

silk off the shoulder dress in palmflower

Silk Off the Shoulder Dress in Palmflower. Off the shoulder dresses are everywhere this season, so why not invest in one that’s high quality (all my Madwell products have lasted several years), silk – so super comfortable, stylish, and less than $100.

the renny tassel sandal

Renny Tassel Sandals – I highly recommend Madewell’s sandals for summer travel. I wore mine to death in both London and Italy, and they’re still chugging along. These are fashionable, classic and will hold up while your wanderlust takes over.

scatterblock tassel dress

Scatterblock Tassel Dress – What’s not to love about a dress with tassels? They just make me want to dance! The shift cut on this dress is so flattering and the length is work appropriate. If I can claim it as a work investment, that’s all the convincing I need to throw my money at it!

eyelet sunshower top

Eyelet Sunshower Top – A delicate summer top in classic white. I think this basic is well worth it’s less than $20 sale price.

silk petalplay romper

Silk Petal Play Romper – A gorgeous romper in a gorgeous cobalt blue. Like dresses, I love rompers because there’s no thought involved in getting dress – perfect for lazy girls like me. This would be cute at a bridal shower or for college girls going through rush.

Denim Piazza Skirt

Denim Piazza Skirt – I own this skirt and love it. My only regret is that I didn’t buy it when it was on sale! Feminine and loose, it’s the more girly and grown up version of the classic denim mini.

nightbreeze mini dress in stroke dash

Nightbreeze Mini Dress – I know, I know, yet another dress. Honestly, dresses are just so easy and chic for summer, so I couldn’t resist. Plus, I’m a huge fan of Madewell’s dresses, and jump at any chance to buy them at a steep discount. This gingham number is a little dressier and would be a lovely summer work dress.

Thank you for stopping by, amigas! Happy Saturday and happy sale hunting!
