2016 Black Friday and Cyber Weekend Sales

Christmas at Cartier in London

Happy Thanksgiving, friends! While they don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here in England, I thought I’d at least take advantage of all of the sales happening online. You better believe if I can’t partake in massive amounts of gravy, pumpkin pie, and Planes, Trains and Automobiles – retail therapy will be occurring on a massive scale. So settle into a food coma, listen to the dulcet sounds of John Candy and Steve Martin, and let the Christmas tree’s glow lead you into an online shopping trance.

Look for Less: Celine Tilda Sunglasses

Confession: even though I’ve been attempting to live on a student budget, I’m still lusting after these Celine Tilda sunglasses. They’re super pricey, but I love the oversized-square wayfarer shape and how dark black they are. Celebs like Shay Mitchell and insta-models are big fans as well. Since they’re Celine, while they are designer, they’re not overtly showy or too loud with labels for my taste. They’re the perfect does of glamour and discrete luxury.

I’ve been carefully monitoring the pound to dollar exchange rate, as these glasses are currently cheaper to purchase in London than in the States. Still clocking in at about $300, they’re still too expensive for me to make the splurge yet. Until the pound miraculously weakens more against the dollar, I may have to rely on these dupes from Boohoo.

At only $10, these glasses master the Tilda shape. Instead of deep black, they’re tortoiseshell, which is fine because I find cheaper sunglasses can’t achieve that dark pitch black I love about the Celines. So, what do you think? Should I give into the Celine siren call and make the splurge or stick to the look for less? Halp!

Look for Less: Realisation Par Red Ruffle Dress

Look for Less: Realisation Par Alexandra Dress

This Realisation Par dress has been a longstanding item on my “lust list.”  I love the timeless, feminine cut that also exudes cool-girl effortlessness. Beloved by multiple bloggers and celebs Bella Hadid, the dress’s ubiquity still hasn’t tempered my pining.

Look for Less: Lorna Luxe Realisation Par DressBlogger Lorna Luxe showcases how selfie perfect the dress is.

So, why haven’t I pulled the online shopping trigger after multiple visits to the site and almost check-outs? The $195 price tag. I just can’t quite bring myself to make the splurge when the dress is so memorable and can’t be switched up too much for everyday wear. The LBD, this is not. While I’m still searching for a spot-on dupe, Asos has a pretty lovely look-for-less. The studs are a bit different than the original, but the ruffles, cut and deep red hue have my approval.

Look for Less: Gigi Hadid’s Studded Anine Bing Booties

Sorry for the lack of posts recently, but I am settling in to life in London/life as a full time student again. The past two weeks have been a craze of moving in, dorm shopping, registering for courses, attending courses and starting a part time job. I’m finally getting room to breathe and blog again, so here I am! While I’ll definitely be delving into the move and London life in a TON of posts, today I thought I’d slowly ease back into blogging with something a little more fun and frivolous – a look for less.

Since moving to London, I’ve started walking EVERYWHERE (something very new for this former sedentary American), and I’m getting so much wear out of all my booties. They’re comfortable, utilitarian, but still stylish enough for the Brits (Londoners love to dress up). So naturally, this look for less is bootie-centric, since I can’t resist a badass pair to power strut all over the city in. Add Gigi Hadid to the mix, and I’m a full-on superfan.

Gigi’s Anine Bing studded booties are pure rock n roll, but unfortunately, at almost $800, won’t fit into my student budget.

anine-bing-charlie-boots-look-for-lessSo bad bitch. So Gigi. So expensive.

Boohoo has a Gigi-appropriate pair for less than $30. Sizes are disappearing, so definitely nab your size quickly and refresh to see if more come back in stock.

If BooHoo is out of stock, Asos has another very similar look for less. These have more of a heel, but the requisite studs are there in all their glory. These retail for $63.

I hope you all have a great Sunday full of boozy brunch (or Sunday roast if you’re in the UK!) and Neflix bingeing – the Amanda Knox documentary looks insane. I’ll be back ASAP with more London posts and fill you all in about the big move.
