This Realisation Par dress has been a longstanding item on my “lust list.” I love the timeless, feminine cut that also exudes cool-girl effortlessness. Beloved by multiple bloggers and celebs Bella Hadid, the dress’s ubiquity still hasn’t tempered my pining.
Blogger Lorna Luxe showcases how selfie perfect the dress is.
So, why haven’t I pulled the online shopping trigger after multiple visits to the site and almost check-outs? The $195 price tag. I just can’t quite bring myself to make the splurge when the dress is so memorable and can’t be switched up too much for everyday wear. The LBD, this is not. While I’m still searching for a spot-on dupe, Asos has a pretty lovely look-for-less. The studs are a bit different than the original, but the ruffles, cut and deep red hue have my approval.
Snag it here.

Sorry for the lack of posts recently, but I am settling in to life in London/life as a full time student again. The past two weeks have been a craze of moving in, dorm shopping, registering for courses, attending courses and starting a part time job. I’m finally getting room to breathe and blog again, so here I am! While I’ll definitely be delving into the move and London life in a TON of posts, today I thought I’d slowly ease back into blogging with something a little more fun and frivolous – a look for less.
Since moving to London, I’ve started walking EVERYWHERE (something very new for this former sedentary American), and I’m getting so much wear out of all my booties. They’re comfortable, utilitarian, but still stylish enough for the Brits (Londoners love to dress up). So naturally, this look for less is bootie-centric, since I can’t resist a badass pair to power strut all over the city in. Add Gigi Hadid to the mix, and I’m a full-on superfan.
Gigi’s Anine Bing studded booties are pure rock n roll, but unfortunately, at almost $800, won’t fit into my student budget.
So bad bitch. So Gigi. So expensive.
Boohoo has a Gigi-appropriate pair for less than $30. Sizes are disappearing, so definitely nab your size quickly and refresh to see if more come back in stock.
If BooHoo is out of stock, Asos has another very similar look for less. These have more of a heel, but the requisite studs are there in all their glory. These retail for $63.
I hope you all have a great Sunday full of boozy brunch (or Sunday roast if you’re in the UK!) and Neflix bingeing – the Amanda Knox documentary looks insane. I’ll be back ASAP with more London posts and fill you all in about the big move.

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for your kind comments regarding Tuesday’s post. It’s tough to get personal and vulnerable on the internet, but due to everyone’s support I will definitely be incorporating more personal writing in the future. Today, however, is for something a little bit more frivolous – fall fashion. While it’s still boiling in the Midwest, I know the weather will be much more temperate in London and the autumn chill will set in quickly.
Booties are some of my favorite fall necessities, and I’ve definitely stowed away several pairs to make for the big move. Fingers crossed they all fit in my suitcase! Shoes can be such a pain to pack. I’m such a big booties fan though because they’re so damn easy – comfy, stylish, pair well with jeans or dresses/skirts and perfect for pounding the city pavements without feeling like your feet will fall off.

Since I’m a bargain hunter, I thought I’d share some of my favorite affordable autumn booties with you, so you can stock up for the new season. They pair beautifully with crunchy fall leaves and pumpkin spice lattes.

Thank you for stopping by! I’m headed to Chicago to see some family before I move, so off to pack! Hope you all have a great weekend, and I’ll be back with some more London focused posts next week. xo.
Confession: Aquazzura’s sassy red fringe heels are not exactly new to the blogosphere, but I’ve been obsessed since I saw my blogger crush Sincerely Jules donning them in the photo above. Since I don’t have $800 lying around, I’ve waited and waited for a great dupe to come along, and I finally made the leap and bought this on-point version from Public Desire.
They were on sale, so of course they sold out by the time I received them and could write this post (#bloggerfail). Luckily, there are several other spot-on dupes on the market, so you can still grab that wild look, for less. You can also check out other Public Desire designs here. They’re very affordable and on-trend.
I’m a bit of a colorphobe, so these are a great gateway drug into the world of bright, vivid hues in my wardrobe. Whether throwing them on with ripped jeans and a white tee or a little black dress, I think I’ll get a lot of wear out of them, as they can sass up and add intrigue to any outfit. Plus, I needed a little more #shoeporn in my life. Don’t we all?
Let me know what you think of them and if you have spotted any more great dupes lately. I’m all about that champagne life on a beer budget!
During our recent trip to San Diego, one night we ventured north to the ritzy seaside town of La Jolla. We opted for dinner at George’s Ocean Terrace, the more casual younger brother to George’s on the Cove, as it came highly recommended from literally everyone on Facebook and Instagram. Sipping on cocktails and nibbling on their perfect stuffed figs, we dined on the rooftop, perched high on the cliffs above the Pacific Ocean. While most of San Diego is decidedly beachy and casual, I decided to amp it up and get a little fancy (just love getting my fancypants on!) for dear George.
Getting artsy with the George’s sign while we waited for our table. Very fashion. Very ootd.

Choker was from Claire’s
I recently bought this off the shoulder top from SheInside, and it checks all the right boxes. Lacy? Check. Off the shoulder? Check. Show-stopping sleeves? Check and check. Better yet, it’s a bargain and a spot-on dupe for a Self Portrait blouse that’s sold out everywhere. The only flaw? It doesn’t come in every color.
The ShopBop version for about $80. Buy here.
Shopbop sells a pricier but still under $100 version, if you’re afraid to order from SheInside. My items took about two weeks to arrive and the quality has been great so far. No complaints, especially for a perfectly feminine and detailed summer top under $20 that I think looks much more expensive. Snag yours before summer’s over and it’s too late!
