Affordable Autumn Booties Under $100

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for your kind comments regarding Tuesday’s post. It’s tough to get personal and vulnerable on the internet, but due to everyone’s support I will definitely be incorporating more personal writing in the future. Today, however, is for something a little bit more frivolous – fall fashion. While it’s still boiling in the Midwest, I know the weather will be much more temperate in London and the autumn chill will set in quickly.

Booties are some of my favorite fall necessities, and I’ve definitely stowed away several pairs to make for the big move. Fingers crossed they all fit in my suitcase! Shoes can be such a pain to pack. I’m such a big booties fan though because they’re so damn easy – comfy, stylish, pair well with jeans or dresses/skirts and perfect for pounding the city pavements without feeling like your feet will fall off.

Since I’m a bargain hunter, I thought I’d share some of my favorite affordable autumn booties with you, so you can stock up for the new season. They pair beautifully with crunchy fall leaves and pumpkin spice lattes.

Thank you for stopping by! I’m headed to Chicago to see some family before I move, so off to pack! Hope you all have a great weekend, and I’ll be back with some more London focused posts next week. xo.

Look for Less: Aquazzura Wild Thing Red Fringe Heel

Sincerely Jules Aquazzura Wild Thing Heelsimage source

Confession: Aquazzura’s sassy red fringe heels are not exactly new to the blogosphere, but I’ve been obsessed since I saw my blogger crush Sincerely Jules donning them in the photo above. Since I don’t have $800 lying around, I’ve waited and waited for a great dupe to come along, and I finally made the leap and bought this on-point version from Public Desire.

They were on sale, so of course they sold out by the time I received them and could write this post (#bloggerfail). Luckily, there are several other spot-on dupes on the market, so you can still grab that wild look, for less. You can also check out other Public Desire designs here. They’re very affordable and on-trend.

I’m a bit of a colorphobe, so these are a great gateway drug into the world of bright, vivid hues in my wardrobe. Whether throwing them on with ripped jeans and a white tee or a little black dress, I think I’ll get a lot of wear out of them, as they can sass up and add intrigue to any outfit. Plus, I needed a little more #shoeporn in my life. Don’t we all?

Let me know what you think of them and if you have spotted any more great dupes lately. I’m all about that champagne life on a beer budget!

Look for Less: Self Portrait Lace Off the Shoulder Top

During our recent trip to San Diego, one night we ventured north to the ritzy seaside town of La Jolla. We opted for dinner at George’s Ocean Terrace, the more casual younger brother to George’s on the Cove, as it came highly recommended from literally everyone on Facebook and Instagram. Sipping on cocktails and nibbling on their perfect stuffed figs, we  dined on the rooftop, perched high on the cliffs above the Pacific Ocean. While most of San Diego is decidedly beachy and casual, I decided to amp it up and get a little fancy (just love getting my fancypants on!) for dear George.

Getting artsy with the George’s sign while we waited for our table. Very fashion. Very ootd.

I recently bought this off the shoulder top from SheInside, and it checks all the right boxes. Lacy? Check. Off the shoulder? Check. Show-stopping sleeves? Check and check. Better yet, it’s a bargain and a spot-on dupe for a Self Portrait blouse that’s sold out everywhere. The only flaw? It doesn’t come in every color.

The ShopBop version for about $80. Buy here.

Shopbop sells a pricier but still under $100 version, if you’re afraid to order from SheInside. My items took about two weeks to arrive and the quality has been great so far. No complaints, especially for a perfectly feminine and detailed summer top under $20 that I think looks much more expensive. Snag yours before summer’s over and it’s too late!

Look for Less: Bows on Bows in San Diego

Working 9-5 slaving in an office, I’m trapped in conservative soul-sucking business clothing all day and don’t get many opportunities to prance around in cute summer clothes. So you better believe I embraced every opportunity to bare some clavicle and wear every single off the shoulder top I own while on vacation in San Diego.

Blouse // Choker // Bag

Even better than an off the shoulder top? An off the shoulder top paired with a choker. I decided to go full-on bows on bows. This sassy little choker reminds me a lot of an Are You Am I version, so I was happy to scoop it up at a mere fraction of the price. Ain’t nobody got money for a $50 choker.

Every night we relished in the perfect San Diego weather and would explore the nearby marina and Seaport collection of touristy shops and overpriced, yet kitschy restaurants. I also took the opportunity to force my mom to take outfit photos! I am so awkward with these still. I love fashion and want to blog about personal style, but I’m  pretty uncomfortable in front of the camera, and my mom is a saint for putting up with my self-critical direction.  Only thing to get me through a photo shoot? Ice cream!

We grabbed two crazy expensive ($17 total!) from Ben & Jerry’s, but they were worth it to satisfy my never-ending sweet tooth.  Also worth it? Taking in the sunset and golden light over the harbor. No one does sunsets quite like Southern California.

An Ode to Rosé

Life through rosé colored glasses Looking at life through rosé-colored glasses with my friend Meghan at a local winery.

They say to blog about your passions, so that’s why I’m here today to wax poetically about one of my summer loves – rosé . In fact, the idea of sipping on this sweet summer water soon is currently the only thing staving off the Sunday scaries. Call it borderline obsession, call it basic bitch-ism at its finest, but I am all about this pink elixir – and I’m not even a huge wino! I don’t know what first bewitched me. Let’s be honest, maybe I’m just entranced by its Instagram perfect hue, but this crisp, not too sweet beverage is all I’m ordering, all summer long.

cheers to rosé

Not only am I swept into a summer affair with the beverage, but it also seems that several retailers are besotted as well. I’m happy to display my addiction, nay devotion, proudly, and I wanted to share these picks with fellow rosé romantics. Just click on the links to purchase – preferably while sipping away on a pink French varietal.

I’m also obsessed with this rug. Perfect for next to a well-stocked bar cart:

You can buy here from the Be There in Five Etsy shop (she sells other sassy rugs too – so check her out).

There are only a few weeks of the summer, and more importantly rosé season left, so drink up (responsibly of course) while you still can. Cheers!
